ISI Elite Training Review

Hello, dear readers! Today, I'm thrilled to share my latest fitness adventure – my very first encounter with ISI Elite Training. If you're curious about trying out something new and spicing up your workout routine, keep reading as I take you through the highs and a few quirks of my experience.

Unraveling ISI Elite Training

ISI Elite Training, an abbreviation for "Iron, Sharpens, and Iron," promises an intense and dynamic workout that challenges your physical limits. It's designed to help you tap into your hidden potential and reach levels of fitness you might not have thought possible. They take aspects of HIIT, CrossFit, bodybuilding, powerlifting, endurance training, Tabata, and more to deliver a complete package to help you build strength, endurance, and overall fitness.

Diverse Workout Days

My experience with ISI Elite Training was marked by a variety of themed workout days, each targeting different aspects of fitness:

  1. Monday: Lower Body (I attended this day)
  2. Tuesday:  Upper Body
  3. Wednesday: Core/Cardio
  4. Thursday: Lower Body
  5. Friday: Upper Body
  6. Saturday: Core/Cardio
  7. Sunday: Total Body

A Mix of Emotions

Stepping into ISI Elite Training for the first time was a mix of excitement and nervousness. The studio buzzed with energy as participants warmed up, chatting and stretching. I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the warm-up portion. It felt a bit chaotic, and I missed the more structured warm-ups I was used to.

We started off the warm-up with the trainer saying, "Go take a lap." I was a bit confused but just followed the class. We took a lap outside around the parking lot before we came back in. The trainer then demonstrated the different zones (stations) as the class warmed up, but the warmups were a bit random for me. The trainer would come up with different ones on the spot while she was demoing the exercises.

The workouts themselves were incredible. The trainer led us through a challenging sequence of exercises that pushed me to my limits. The energy in the room was contagious, and I could feel my determination rising with every rep.

The Timer Dilemma

One aspect I wasn't entirely fond of was that the trainer kept the timer. In my previous fitness experiences, I've become accustomed to seeing a visible timer, allowing me to track my progress and push harder when needed. The absence of a clear timer disrupted my sense of pacing. The trainer would also go longer or cut the round a bit short if she got caught up coaching someone.

The Final Verdict

All said and done, my maiden voyage with ISI Elite Training was an eye-opener. The intensity, variety, and camaraderie within the class were undeniable highlights. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and helpful, creating a positive atmosphere that made me feel at home.

While my heart still holds a special place for F45, I'm open to giving ISI Elite Training another shot. The workout truly delivered on its promise of intensity and challenge. With some adjustments to the warm-up structure and timer management, I can see myself thoroughly enjoying the experience and possibly even becoming a regular.

So, there you have it – my honest take on ISI Elite Training. Stay tuned for more fitness escapades, insights, and musings on my blog. Remember, the journey to a fitter, stronger you is all about exploring new horizons and finding the perfect fit for your unique journey!
